The best airport to fly into is Guatemala City, La Aurora International Airport (GUA). This is a major airport and has direct flights from many U.S. cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Newark, and Los Angeles. United, Delta, and American all fly into GUA. Avianca is also a popular Columbian airline that has a few nonstops into GUA from the US. We do not recommend laying over in other Central American cities. Please reach out to us if you would like us to look over your flight plans before booking. Check out the Sample Itinerary and Travel Checklist page for additional details.

For lodging:
We recommend going ahead and booking at Hotel Atitlan now, given we have a room block set aside. The room block will close November 1st and those rooms not booked will be released back to the public. For the Antigua portion, we recommend booking as soon as you decide on a hotel or Airbnb. If you are unsure which to pick, let us know and we can help you decide.

We recommend checking Google flights and booking ~6 months out
